Desexing

One of the most important surgeries in your pet’s life is desexing. Desexing or Neutering surgery not only prevents unwanted pregnancy but also has many other health and financial benefits. Testicular and prostate disease are prevented and wandering behaviour in males is minimised. Mammary tumours and severe uterine infections are prevented in females. Desexing can also assist with certain unwanted behaviours in both males and females, cats and dogs. Council registration fees are discounted for desexed animals.

We recommend desexing puppies at 5 months old and kittens at 4 months or 1 kg body weight. If you would like to know more about the benefits of this procedure or would like to know about the before and after care, feel free to discuss it with one of our friendly team members.
