Emmett the Newfy

Clinic Dog | Snack Surveillance Officer | Professional Good Boy
Clinic Dog | Snack Surveillance Officer | Professional Good Boy

Emmett is our much-loved black Newfoundland and unofficial Griffith Veterinary Hospital morale manager.

With his giant paws, gentle nature, and impressive ability to appear the second food is opened, Emmett has quickly become a favourite among staff and clients alike.

Known for his sweet temperament, dramatic expressions, and unwavering dedication to supervising snack breaks, Emmett takes his role in the clinic very seriously… particularly if treats are involved.

When he’s not charming everyone he meets, Emmett can usually be found supervising the team from the comfiest spot in the room, offering emotional support during busy days, or casually investigating anything edible within reach.

As a true Newfoundland, Emmett brings plenty of size, slobber, and personality to the clinic, along with a calm and comforting presence. He is also a firm believer that no food should ever be left unattended.

We like to think of Emmett as an important part of the GVH team — equal parts therapy dog, security detail, and opportunistic food thief.

Special interests:
Treats, air conditioning, lying in inconvenient places, stealing hearts, and looking innocent immediately after committing a crime.

Strengths:
Boosting staff morale, making friends with everyone, and providing excellent emotional support.

Weaknesses:
Food. Any food. All food.
