Hi, I'm Kaitlin! I have lived in Griffith all my life but moved away for a while to get my degre...
Dr Mark Sayer
I graduated from Sydney University in 1983. After working in
clinic in and around Sydney, I moved to Wagga and opened Berry Street Veterinary Hospital and Junee Vet Clinic. During the next 18 years myslef and a small handful of dedicated nurses worked the two practices, including making weekly visits to outlying towns in order to see animals far away from vet hospitals.
I work at our numerous vet hospitals now, Kooringal Vet Hospital, Junee Vet Hospital, Federation Vet Hospital, Henty Vet Clinic and Griffith Vet Hospital.
I have 2 dogs and 4 cats in the family as well as 7 beautiful children. You will oftenly see me in the practice with 'Monkey' my Pomeranian X who travels all over the Riverina visiting the Practices. In my spare time I enjoy flying as I have my pilots license.
Veterinary Practice Manager (Certificate IV Veterinary NursingCertificate II in Business ServicesDiploma Practice Management)
I have been working with Dr Mark Sayer for the last 14 Years and every moment within the job has been amazing! Working in Mark's team has been full of wonderful memories, experience and knowledge. I have worked in all of our clinics over the duration of this time. Firstly in Wagga, then managing Corowa and now in Griffith. I am pleased to be in my home town again after leaving about 11 years ago,
its so nice to be close to family again :) and seeing old friends.
Veterinary nursing is such a wonderful profession and there
is so many rewarding aspects of the job, I am so blessed to be doing something i love every single day! Caring for pets is so rewarding! And meeting their owners is equally so, im always thrilled to meet loving pet owners and offering assistance and peace of mind for pet care.
I am also a keen advocate of puppy school, which we offer at the clinic. I am very passionate in helping owners get their new puppy started off on the right paw to ensure well adjusted and social able dogs.
When im working I am enjoying the company of our clinic cat the Crazy Calli Cat, check out her entics in Calli's Corner her blog.. Alternatively at home im snuggling one of my three cats; Mishka, Kion or Evie. At the beginning of 2017 my partner and I had our first huuuman baby! Ryan was born on the 11th January 2017, a day before my 28th birthday, he was best birthday present ever! I love being a mum! Ryan can sometimes be seen at clinic with me 'helping', he looks to be taking after his mum as he just loves animals, especially his own cat Kion! When he is sick or sad we can always cheer him up with watching the cats funny antics.
I was born in Sydney and grew up with a menagerie so there was no question about studying veterinary science. I moved to sunny North QLD to pursue my dream and graduated from James Cook University in 2017. I initially started working at our branch in Wagga Wagga before moving to Griffith.
I love the wide variety of cases rural mixed practice offers! It makes each day both exciting and challenging. I like working with animals of all different sizes, especially ones with scales. I love all aspects of the job, but my favourite is treating complicated medical cases because it requires me to put my Sherlock hat on. Plus, there is no better feeling than reuniting clients with their beloved pets after making them well again.
I hope to see you at the clinic soon!
Dr Kiri Westphalen
Veterinarian (BSC BVMS Veterinary Science)
I graduated from Murdoch University in Perth in 2013. After spending 12 years in the west, I decided it was time for a change and moved to Canberra, then Wagga Wagga in March 2014 to begin work with Mark. I now spend some of my time in Wagga and Junee and some in Griffith and Hillston.
My passion is production animal medicine, especially reproduction in cattle and sheep. These animals are really quite amazing creatures to work with and
there farmers are pretty fantastic as well. In August 2014, I attended the World Buiatrics Congress in Cairns to learn all about the latest advances in production animal enterprises from speakers from all over the world! I am also Ovine Brucellosis Accredited, an APAV vet and Hendra Virus Vaccine Accredited.
Not only that, but I have the opportunity to do some pretty fantastic work with our canine and feline friends as well. I especially love surgery; there is no better feeling than a sick animal being carried in, performing a bit of hocus pocus and having a healthy animal bounce out!
So, I look forward to seeing you and your animals while on my travels with my big black dog Aidan…
Veterinary Nurse (Veterinary Nursing Cert )
Hi I’m Sam!
I have lived in Griffith all my life. Growing up I had a large array of pets on our farm. From Rabbits, Guineapigs, Chooks and Parrots to Cats, Dogs and Horses. I even bread Alpacas as pets/heard guards! I developed a great passion for animals early on. Currently I have a Staffy called Hunter, a Toy Poodle called Monte, a Ragdoll cross called Panther, a few chooks and ducks and a Galah called Aussie.
I started my career as a vet nurse in 2011 through a
school- based traineeship as part of my HSC. I was working casual shifts here with Mark for a few years until I completed my training. I then moved on to be a fulltime groomer for about 3 years.
I returned to the Griffith Veterinary Hospital at the beginning of 2018 at their new practice in Donaldson Street. I am now back working my true passion- Vet Nursing, as well as grooming! My favourite part of working here is pampering all your beloved pets with a nice Spa treatment and then seeing the loving and excited reactions when I hand them back to their families!
Front Office Manager
For those that have not met
me I am Calli the Beautiful Bengal that resides and owns the staff at the Griffith Veterinary Hospital. I am of firm belief that the people in blue/purple whom seem to work here could not possibly cope without my antics. You will often find me curled up on the printer, on my throne four poster bed on the back bench of the clinic or on the front desk showing off. If you would like to read more about me, catch my blogs on facebook and on our webpage under Calli's Corner
Hi I'm Maria, I am originally from Ireland and made the big move to the land down under in 2014....
My name is Megan, also known as Skippy or baby vet nurse (by VN). I am 19 years old (the baby of the clinic) and graduated year twelve two years ago. I am nearly at the end of completing my certificate 4 in vet nursing and have already completed my certificate 2 in animal studies.
Animals are and always will be a huge passion of mine, I currently own:
# Maz - Saint Bernard X Mastiff
# Robbie - Maltese X
# Erice - Major Mitchell cockatoo
# Pauley - Rainbow Lorikeet
# Smidge - Mini Lop Rabbit
I started work placement at Griffith Vet Hospital after finishing high school and shortly after was offered a position as a vet nurse at the clinic. The best decision I’ve ever made! I LOVE going to work every day and seeing all the animals.
Some of my favourite pets to see are the Giant breed dogs, exotic animals and rabbits. Rabbits are my favourite and somewhat my specialty. I am always keen to talk to clients about their rabbits and answer rabbit questions.
I adore BIG dogs, I find it so exciting to meet and learn about the unique dog breeds that live in our local area.
My favourite days at the clinic are when we are busy. On these days I have the opportunity to meet so many different pets of all different shapes and sizes.
I would have to say the best part of the day is to see the BIG smile on our clients face when they see their beloved pet at the end of the day.

~IN LOVING MEMORY~
Hi my name is Holly!
I am a
7 year old, 45kg Bernese Mountain Dog and I have a very special job here at the practice, I donate blood to patients if they are really sick. Its a really important job! But I also spend most of my time sleeping under the desk, welcoming clients, playing with kids and being a supervisor.
My favourite things to do are, welcoming new friends to the clinic, playing with children when they visit, getting snuggles from all the staff and taking car trips.
, I cant wait to give you cuddles and sit on your foot!HiCome in and say
Hey there im Monkey!
I am a cheeky
5 year old Pomeranian X and I belong to Mark and Jaimie Sayer. I might only be little but I'm BOSS.
I love visiting all the different practices that are a part of Australian Vet Hospitals, everyone always makes such a fuss over me. I also LOVE car rides with my Dad Mark, he always jokes with the staff that I get the next shift to drive. I love spending time with Mum too, we love to snuggle in bed and I often steal dads spot if he gets out of bed so I can snuggle mum.
